Chocolate chip Cookies

Makes 4 dozen cookies

Cooking + Prep Time: 1 hour 10 minutes + 2 hours minimum chilling time

Caramel filled candies are wrapped in chocolate cookie dough in this tasty

recipe. It’s another Christmas time favorite.


1 cup of softened butter, unsalted

1 cup of sugar, granulated

1 cup of brown sugar, packed

2 eggs, large

2 tsp. of vanilla extract, pure

2 1/4 cups of flour, all-purpose

1 tsp. of baking soda

1 cup of walnuts, chopped

3/4 cup of cocoa powder, unsweetened

1 tbsp. of sugar, granulated

48 caramel candies, chocolate-covered


1. Beat the butter till creamy. Beat in brown and granulated sugars gradually.

Beat in vanilla and eggs.

2. Combine the flour with cocoa and baking soda. Add gradually to the butter

mixture and beat well. Add and stir in 1/2 of walnuts. Cover. Place in

refrigerator for two hours or more.

3. Preheat the oven to 375F.

4. Combine last 1/2 cup of nuts and 1 tbsp. of sugar. Divide dough in four


5. Place three portions in refrigerator and work on one portion at a time.

6. Divide each portion in 12 pieces. Press each piece around chocolate-coated

caramel and roll it into ball. Dip tops in sugar mixture. Place on lined cookie

sheets with two inches between them and the sugared size facing up. Repeat

with remainder of portions.

7. Bake at 375F for 6-8 minutes. Allow to cool on cookie sheets for a few

minutes and remove them to a wire rack to finish cooling. Serve.
